KABIR SINGH IS LIKELY TO ENTER RS 100 CRORE CLUB SOON

Kabir Singh earned Rs 17.54 crore on Day 4, taking its total collection so far to Rs 88.37 crore


Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani are on cloud nine. Their new release, Kabir Singh, is taking the box office by storm. Written and directed by Sandeep Vanga, the film earned Rs 20.21 crore on its opening day. After earning Rs 70.83 crore in its opening weekend, the film passed the Monday test with flying colours. It earned Rs 17.54 crore on Day 4, taking its total collection so far to Rs 88.37 crore.The romantic drama film has collected a whopping Rs 87.83 crore at the box office, so far.
Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani- starrer Kabir Singh raked in around Rs 17 crore on Monday and is likely to enter Rs 100 crore club soon.  
To be exact Kabir Singh has earned Rs 88.37 crore so far. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#KabirSingh is sensational… ₹ 17.5 cr+ on a working day [Mon]? Most biggies don’t collect that on a Sun… Eyes ₹ 200 cr… May challenge #Uri [highest grossing #Hindi film of 2019]… Fri 20.21 cr, Sat 22.71 cr, Sun 27.91 cr, Mon 17.54 cr. Total: ₹ 88.37 cr. India biz.
Despite mostly negative reviews, Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh is on its way to become a blockbuster.  After an overwhelming weekend collection, the film maintained its momentum at the box office on Monday as well. The Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Arjun Reddy earned Rs 17.5 crore on Monday, inching closer to the 100-crore mark.
 Kabir Singh has defied harsh criticism to emerge as the biggest solo hit of the actor’s career.

Review:

Critics have slammed Kabir Singh for its toxic masculinity. India Today reviewer Ananya Bhattacharya gave it 1.5 stars out of 5 and wrote, "Misogyny is not cool. Neither is Kabir Singh."
"Kabir Singh the film is the same film as Arjun Reddy. It is the same story, the same dialogues, the same character, the same. So if you have seen Arjun Reddy, you would know that Shahid Kapoor is merely play-acting, trying to do a Vijay Deverakonda. Shahid tries so hard to be Vijay Deverakonda that Kabir Singh loses himself after the first few scenes. So what did Sandeep Reddy Vanga and this entire cast and crew do with Kabir Singh? That's a question we don't yet have an answer to," she wrote.
Kabir Singh is the fourth biggest Hindi opener at the box office this year and is the only movie which did not release on a holiday. Kabir Singh has received mixed reviews from audiences and critics and the film boasts of an ensemble star cast. Kabir Singh was released across 3,123 screens in India and a total of 493 screens overseas.
Salman's Bharat, which released on Eid, earned a whopping Rs 42.3 crore on its first day, becoming the biggest opener of 2019. The other three films of 2019 that had strong box office collections on Day one are Kalank (Rs 21.60 crore), Kesari (Rs 21.06 core), and Gully Boy (Rs 19.40 crore).
Kabir Singh is the highest grossing film of Shahid Kapoor’s career. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed the original, has helmed this movie as well.
Kabir Singh, despite its terrible reviews, has already beaten lifetime earnings of previous Shahid films such as R Rajkumar, Haider, Shaandaar, Kaminey and Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Shahid’s biggest hit is Padmaavat, although he was overshadowed by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, according to most reviews.
