INDIA'S FIRST UPCOMING ELECTRIC SUPERBIKE
Emflux One is the India's first superbike priced at Rs 6 lakhs
Founded back in 2016, Emflux Motors is India's first ever electric superbike company. The highly stylish Emflux Model 1 is claimed to be India’s first-ever electric motorbike that is aimed at offering the high-end superbike feel and riding experience to its customers. The latest Emflux Model 1 will be featuring two variants initially –a “Standard” one and a “Top End” one.
The production version of the Emflux Model One is likely to be launched by the end of 2019. The Emflux One looks like an internal combustion engine middleweight supersport, but is in fact, powered by electricity. The Emflux One has a claimed acceleration of 0 to 100 kmph in just 3 seconds, and boasts of a top speed of 200 kmph.
The Emflux One packs a liquid-cooled, 60 kW AC induction motor capable of putting out 53 kW (around 70 bhp) of maximum power from the controller. The power source is a Samsung lithium ion 9.7 kWh battery, which takes just over half hour to charge from 0 to 80 per cent. The fully-charged battery is said to have a range of 200 km on a single charge. The Emflux One has a long list of features, including a 6.8-inch TFT instrument panel with built-in GPS navigation system, Bluetooth, wi-fi, real-time vehicle diagnostics and a dedicated mobile app for remote customization and bike-to-bike connectivity.
The Emflux One has a tubular steel trellis frame and boasts of 43 mm USD forks (upgradable to race-spec Ohlins USD forks) and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear (upgradable to Ohlins 46 mm Monotube Gas Shock). Braking duties are handled by Brembo-powered 300 mm dual-disc brakes up front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear, with standard dual-channel ABS. The 17-inch wheels come shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres.
Being the first-ever electric superbike in India, the bike is yet expecting to witness strong rivals against it. The fully-faired motorbike is expected to land directly in the category of the advanced 600-650cc bikes and is, therefore, expected to be giving hard-time competition to petrol-powered competitors like the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
