DOSTANA 2 ANNOUNCED! KARAN JOHAR IS ON SEARCH FOR SECOND SUITABLE BOY

Karan Johar has just announced the Dostana 2 is coming soon and revealed that the lead roles will be Kartik Aryan and Janhvi Kapoor along with a second suitable boy

Karan Johar has announced a sequel to his 2008 hit production Dostana, which starred Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in lead roles. The director-producer made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday.

However, the third actor in Dostana 2 is not confirmed yet. According to Karan's tweet, he will soon be launching "a suitable boy" who will be a fresh face.

“The return of the franchise with unlimited madness! @TheAaryanKartik, #Janhvi & a soon to be launched fresh face - making it the trio for #Dostana2, directed by @CollinDcunha. Watch out for the third suitable boy!,” Karan wrote in a tweet and shared an animated announcement video.

Karan is also looking forward to working with Kartik in their first-ever collaboration, “I am excited to take the franchise forward with Kartik and Janhvi! This is our first film at Dharma with Kartik and we are very excited to work with him. I can’t wait to create some desi boy and girl madness with Kartik and Janhvi. We will also be introducing a new male lead in this film and Collin makes his debut as director with Dostana 2.”

Before Kartik and Janhvi, a lot of other actors were rumoured to be in talks for the lead roles in Dostana 2, including Alia Bhatt, John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao. However, in January this year, Karan Johar had rubbished the reports and clarified on Twitter saying that, "No one has been officially approached for Dostana 2. Some thoughts and ideas are underway but nothing official has moved."

Janhvi currently has the Gunjan Saxena biopic in her kitty and RoohiAfza with Rajkummar Rao. The filming for latter began a couple of weeks ago while the former has been shooting for a while now in Lucknow. Kartik was last seen in hit romantic comedy Luka Chuppi. He is currently shooting for Love Aaj Kal 2 with Sara Ali Khan and will also be seen with Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar in Pati Patni Aur Woh remake.

Janhvi has made her debut with the film Dhadak, the remake of Sairat, produced by Karan Johar. This will be the first movie where Kartik will be worked with Karan and Janhvi.
